Call of Cthulhu 7E: Investigator Handbook

I was impressed by how the sample pre-generated characters help you jump right into a scenario without spending hours on creation. The expanded guidance on building backstories really makes you feel more invested in your investigator.

The occupation-based skill lists are a lifesaver when I'm building a character fast, and the artwork really sets the mood for the creeping dread. Already used it to sketch out a nosy journalist who's about to regret their curiosity.

Picked this up for a new campaign and the character creation section is incredibly detailed. The professions like journalist and detective give you a lot of hooks to build a real person.
