The semi-transparent finish is what sold me, it builds up gradually so I could stop before things got too dark. One light pass over a fabric costume gave it that worn, dirty look without soaking through. Water cleanup was a bonus since I just rinsed my brush under the tap.
I used this on a cardboard prop and was surprised how natural the grime looked, even after just one coat. The semi-transparent finish keeps the texture visible, and it washes off easily with water when I want to adjust.
One light pass gave my foam armor that grimy, weathered look I'd been trying to paint for weeks. It's semi-transparent so you can build up layers slowly, and it thins with plain water if you overdo it. Way faster than dry brushing everything by hand.
