Ronin RPG: Core Rulebook

The hardcover binding feels sturdy enough to survive years of table sessions, and the honor-bound choice systems actually make me pause and think before acting. I'm three sessions into a campaign and the book's layout makes finding rules mid-combat surprisingly painless, which is rare for a rulebook

The combat mechanics are brutal and tactical, exactly what I wanted for a samurai-themed campaign. The honor system adds real weight to every decision you make in character.

The combat rules really sell the whole "brutal" promise—the way honor and consequence weave into every roll makes even a simple duel feel like a story beat. It's a chunky hardcover, but I wish the index were a bit deeper for quick lookup during play.
