Cloud Empress RPG: Starter Box

The art in this box is gorgeous, and those giant Magic Cicadas really set the tone for the whole setting. I love that it's built to run with the Mothership rules I already own, so we jumped right into a session with zero friction.

I was hesitant about the Panic Engine rules at first, but the quick start guide made character creation a breeze and my first session ran smoothly. The giant Magic Cicadas are a refreshingly weird twist on a fantasy setting, and the box's thick cardstock maps held up great during our first night.

The box itself is sturdy, and I appreciate that the starter rules are compatible with Mothership, so I can use them together. It’s a solid introduction to the setting, though the included map could be a bit bigger for my taste.
