Can’t Win is a trick-taking game where you must guess exactly how many times you’ll win, embellished with a twist at the start of each round: You also have to choose a constraint for yourself that limits which cards you are able to win tricks with. The constraint you choose can work for you—or against you—in matching the number of tricks you actually win to the number you bid you would win. At the end of every round, you’ll record the points you earn for your wins and matching bids. Your final score is calculated at the end of the game by multiplying your total wins with the points you score by bidding correctly.

John ★★★★★

The twist of choosing your own constraint before each round adds a whole new layer of strategy that keeps every game fresh. I love how you have to predict your exact win count, which makes even losing feel like a clever puzzle.

Joshua X. ★★★★★

Finally a trick-taking game that actually rewards losing on purpose. Having to pick a personal constraint at the start of each round makes every hand feel completely different. The guessing mechanic keeps everyone on edge until the very last card.

Chloe W. ★★★★☆

The guessing-your-wins mechanic keeps the tension high, but the self-imposed constraints add a fun layer of strategy that makes each round feel fresh. Played it twice with my group and the rules were easy to pick up, though the scoring took a minute to fully click.
