As a premier city planner, you’ve been called in for one of the most prestigious projects imaginable: the chance to remake Manhattan. Now it's time to share your vision for New York City’s most notable borough. Can you design the ideal layout? Planning makes perfect in Making Manhattan!

In Making Manhattan, players will take turns drafting cards to add to their tableau outlining their plan for Manhattan. Tableaus consist of Downtown, Midtown, and Uptown areas as well as Central Park. Once both players have completed their plan, players will score points based on the position of each drafted card, personal scoring conditions assigned at start, and how well they managed traffic through the borough. The player with the most points at the end of the game becomes New York’s top city planner and wins the game!

The tile-laying puzzle is so tight that every decision feels like it matters, and I love how the tiny footprint still delivers a full city-building challenge. It's the kind of game that makes you want one more round just to see if a different layout works better.

Thomas J. ★★★★★

The city planner theme really comes through in the card design—each decision feels like it’s shaping a skyline, and the compact wallet size makes it easy to bring anywhere. I’ve already played three rounds in one sitting and keep finding new strategies.

John S. ★★★★☆

I picked this up for a quick solo game night and was surprised how much strategy fits into just 18 cards. The city-building decisions feel genuinely tough, though the rulebook could be a bit clearer on a couple of scoring details.
