This reversible mat features 1-inch squares on one side and hexes of the same size on the other and measures 23,5 by 26 inches.
For best results, the manufacturer recommends Staedtler mat markers (sold separately). Using grease pencils, permanent marker, or dry erase pens may result in mat damage.
Played a full session on the hex side last weekend and the 1-inch spacing lines up perfectly with my miniatures' bases. Flipping it over for the square grid was just as clean, and nothing slipped around on the table.
Finally a mat where the hexes and squares actually line up right at 1 inch, so switching between my skirmish and dungeon maps doesn't throw off movement ranges. It lays flat after a day or two and markers wipe off clean.
