  • A "T-Game" by Daniele Tascini
  • Competitive style of gameplay with limited building spaces and an intense ship-loading race
  • Art direction focused on strong historical atmosphere

In Thessaloniki you are the patrician of one of the most prominent families in the city, during its 4th century Roman era. Dabbling in fluctuating commerce and intense politics, they compete for riches and influence. Yet the shrewdest will rise above the chaos, managing with meticulous planning and strategic acumen to overpower their opponents and wrest fortune and control from their opponents clutches.

In Thessaloniki, players take the role of influential patricians that seek to produce and trade commodities, build trading posts and monuments, fulfil contracts, and meet the demands of other trading hubs of the era. Consisting of a variable number of rounds, players alternate taking turns and building their strategies by moving their works on a rondel-style board. In each turn you gain commodities, take actions, and trigger an end-of-turn effect where applicable.

Julian ★★★★★

The limited building spaces really force you to plan every move carefully, and the ship-loading race adds a frantic pace to the historical theme. I love how the art captures that ancient Mediterranean feel without being distracting during gameplay.

Racing to load ships before my opponent had me on edge the whole game, and the limited building spaces forced some clever choices I didn't expect. The historical art style really pulls you into the era, making each move feel like a real trade dispute.
