YOU ARE A MUFFIN is a solo journaling game. You are a pastry in a cozy café. As you sit behind glass on the counter, you can see customers coming and going. They order drinks and sit for a while. They eventually leave. You can feel yourself slowly becoming stale. Perhaps the next one will choose you. Inspired by Arnie the Doughnut by Laurie Keller, You are a Muffin is a cozy solo journaling game from Exeunt Press, creator of the ENNIE-nominated Exclusion Zone Botanist. Unlike most games where you are playing the role of another person, in You are a Muffin you are a pastry in a cozy café or coffee shop. Each customer will place an order, and perhaps take a seat to stay a while. There’s a chance that they might choose you as their snack, but that’s fine. After all, that’s why you were made. In this relaxing and cozy journaling game, watch customers enter the shop, wondering if the next one will order you. Is being eaten your goal or is it a threat? That is for you to decide.

Miles S. ★★★★★

I wasn't sure a game about being a muffin could be this immersive, but the way you watch customers come and go while sitting behind glass makes each journal entry feel like a real day in a cozy café. The solo play is perfect for unwinding after work.

Lily ★★★★☆

The journaling prompts are clever enough to make me actually care about which customer orders me. I only wish the game offered a few more pages for longer sessions, but it's a solid little escape for a quiet evening.

Christopher ★★★☆☆

The solo journaling premise is clever, but I wish the prompts went deeper into the café’s daily rhythm. It feels a bit repetitive after a few days of customer visits.
