I’ve been playing this with my family and the way the fate cards keep everyone on edge really captures the chaotic spirit of the movie. Oogie Boogie’s dice-rolling mechanics are surprisingly tense, making each turn feel like a gamble.

The Oogie Boogie mechanic feels perfectly devious; I love trying to pull off his scheme before Jack can stabilize the town. It’s tricky enough that my group has already played three rounds in one night.
