The pretend-city building actually feels strategic without getting bogged down, and the resource gathering keeps everyone engaged even between turns. My group of four played it twice back-to-back, which is the best compliment I can give a new game.

The rulebook is surprisingly easy to follow, even for my 7-year-old who usually skips instructions. My favorite part is how the resource-gathering actually feels strategic, not just random. This one has become our go-to family game night pick.

I love how the game makes my kids and I switch roles—they're pretending to be adults while I'm secretly the one having more fun gathering resources. The pretend city-building feels so creative, and the setup was easy enough for my 8-year-old to start on her own.
