My group has played this three times in one week, and the madness track adds such a nasty twist to the usual outbreak panic. The Old Ones waking up feels genuinely hopeless, but we squeaked out a win on the last try and it was the best board game moment I've had in months.

The cooperative tension is really well done here, especially how each Old One's awakening adds a unique twist to the usual Pandemic formula. The madness cards create a nice sense of dread that matches the theme perfectly.

The doom track and shoggoth tokens add a nice thematic touch, though the difficulty ramps up fast with fewer players. We lost our first two games before finally sealing a portal on the third try, which felt rewarding. Solid co-op challenge if you’ve got a patient group.
