Umami: The Forest Food Fest

The mechanic of "borrowing" ingredients from other players adds just the right amount of playful tension—my group was constantly plotting our next heist. It’s surprisingly strategic for a food-themed game, and the artwork makes every forest creature feel distinct.

My family couldn’t stop laughing when I snagged a mushroom from my son’s bowl mid-round; the three-ingredient recipe challenge keeps every game fresh and quick. The unique taste cards actually change how we strategize each time we play.

The "borrowing" ingredients mechanic is brilliantly chaotic and creates so many laughs. We played three rounds back-to-back.
