Building my house floor by floor from the drafted cards is oddly soothing, and the art on each canal house is gorgeous. Games run about 45 minutes, which is perfect for a weeknight when I want something calm instead of competitive.

The process of drafting cards to build houses floor by floor is surprisingly satisfying, and the game’s relaxed pace makes it perfect for a quiet evening with friends.

I wasn't sure a game about drafting cards could feel this calming, but stacking my canal house floor by floor while my partner agonizes over which card to take is genuinely relaxing. Turns move fast, so we finished in under an hour and immediately reset for another round.
