I’ve been playing this solo while my partner watches TV, and the way the dice pool shrinks as monsters wound you makes each run feel tense and strategic. The boss battles really test how well you’ve been managing your resources.

The way dice and cards combine to simulate a roguelike dungeon crawl is surprisingly tense—my first run ended with a gnarly boss fight that came down to a single roll. For a game that fits in a small box, it's packed with meaningful choices and I keep wanting one more run.

I've played this solo at least ten times and the dice-placement puzzle never gets old—the way monsters turn into both threats and resources on your character sheet is genius. Even after a brutal loss, I immediately reset and try one more run.
